Nyingma Dzogchen master; Seven Treasuries and related Great Perfection literature.

Este perfil está por enquanto só em inglês e chinês.

Life

Longchen Rabjam (1308–1364) systematised Nyingma Great Perfection (Dzogchen) thought in works such as the Seven Treasuries. He is central to later Dzogchen study. ORDL lists him as a Tibetan Buddhist literature mentor. Contemplative methods described in secondary sources are not personal instruction; empowerment and guidance belong with qualified teachers and communities.

The system

  • Dzogchen: recognition of mind’s nature in Nyingma frames.
  • Encyclopedic Treasuries organising view, meditation and conduct.
  • ORDL boundary: reading map—not empowerment or retreat coaching.

Key works

  • The Seven Treasuries
  • Trilogy of Natural Ease (and related cycles)
  • Other Nyingma Dzogchen treatises attributed in the tradition

Where to start

  • A reliable translation of one Treasury with scholarly introduction
  • Overview histories of the Nyingma school before diving into technical manuals

How does Longchenpa organise Dzogchen ‘view’ so it is not just another technique list?
