Life
Buddhaghosa (traditionally 5th century) is the great Pāli commentator whose Visuddhimagga organises sīla, samādhi and paññā for the Theravāda path. Later tradition places him in Sri Lanka translating and commenting on older material. ORDL files him under Theravāda as a literature mentor; meditation instructions on this site are educational background, not personal teaching.
